Coffee on Desk

Our Vision

We believe in the warmth of coffee and tea and community. This is a place where we are integrating yoga and physical therapy to meet RVA's needs to heal from an injury then work to prevent reinjury, together.

The Story of the Two Arrows

The Second Arrow is based on a story.
A teacher asks his students: what would happen if a man was struck by an arrow? His students reply: pain, hurt, bleeding. The teacher then asks his students: what would happen if he was then struck by a second arrow? His students yell: worse! suffering! despair! agony!
The teacher replies: the first arrow is pain, and it is inevitable. The second arrow is suffering, and it is optional.
The lesson we derive from this story is that pain is part of the natural course of life. We are here to help you with the pain, to help you become as independent as possible when walking or rolling through this world. That second arrow is optional and often best avoided through a supportive community and regular activity.
