The Story of the Two Arrows 

A teacher asks his students, "What would happen if a man was struck by an arrow?"
His students reply, "Pain and bleeding." The teacher then asks his students, "What would happen if he was then struck by a second arrow?" His students yell, "Worse: Suffering! Despair! Agony!"
The teacher replies, "The first arrow is pain, and it is inevitable. The second arrow is suffering,
and it is optional."
The lesson we derive from this story is that pain is part of the natural course of life. We are here to help you with the pain; to help you become as independent as possible when walking or rolling through this world. That second arrow, the suffering, is optional and often best avoided through a supportive community and regular activity.

This will be a place where we integrate yoga and physical therapy to meet RVA's need

to heal from an injury and work to prevent re-injury, together!

This is the logo for The Second Arrow. It is a clear picture of an arrow and a mirror image of that arrow but faded hitting at the same point. That's the second arrow "that's unnecessary." It represents "unnecessary suffering." The first arrow represents pain and its natural part to play in our lives. The second arrow is suffering. This place is about working through our pain and preventing suffering.
